Have you seen the wire stands that hold a 12" block? I signed up for a block of the month by Patrick Lose, but hadnt gotten my Christmas block yet.
The other day, I decided to whip one up to put on my bare stand. I sewed some leftover green strips together, and cut some 1 1/2" by 2" brown trunks. I used my triangle ruler to cut out the tree shape. These two got fused to a 12 1/2" square of white on white., a quick zig zag around the edges, then some machine quilting with silver on the tree, and white in the background, and voila! I have a block for my stand.
I had some silver bells and snowflake buttons, they got tacked on too. This would be a really cute candle mat or little centerpiece for your table too, and it was quick and easy!
"Ladies of the evening "met last night, and everyone was busy busy busy! If you have made anything new for Christmas, please send pics, I would love to post them.....stay tuned.....Barb
